How To Choose Your Portrait Location

You no longer have to choose your backyard for your next Family or Portrait Session. Here are some tips and tricks on how to choose your photo location. I will be describing a Family Session, however this also applies to a Group Portrait session and personal Portrait Session as well!

Atmosphere

Decide on the atmosphere that fits yourself and your family. Here are a couple general categories that I ask my clients to think about:

Rustic

Antiques and charming small towns.

Modern

Clean lines or no lines at all. Simplistic with no distractions.

Family

Choose a pallet that works with the vision you have for your Family Portrait. Consider that this will be an image that you enjoy for many years - so try avoiding trendy outfits that may out-date the portrait.

Business

Wear something you might wear to a job interview - after all, your Business Portrait is the first impression your clients will get of you.
